PREVIEW:

What a way to end the regular season! We get a win and you're in game for the Chargers and the Raiders. Of course they could take a tie and both make the playoffs as well but we all know that will not happen. I am excited for this game as both teams have had very interesting story lines. Obviously the Raiders have had their fair share of issues where the Chargers looking like Superbowl Darkhouse and some points but have since fallen off.

This slate is actually pretty darn difficult, with the Chargers we know to keep using our Herbert, Ekeler, Keenan stack but that might not be the optimal approach. For the Raiders they are most likely getting back Darren Waller but just how healthy is he, and how much will that help Derek Carr.

Slightly switching up the approach tonight. Just highlight the top picks.

NEWS:

Waller - Active

Ekeler - Active

Slate Breakdown:

In the first matchup this year both teams had some of their lowest results for their fantasy stars. Justin Herbert had 17 DK points, Derek Carr had 15, and Keenan Allen had 10 DK points. Mike Williams also struggled but that is not as surprising as he is always a hit or miss play. I might just be going with the approach of not trying to actively go out of my way to play the 4 mentioned above. Instead I will be going with what I view as a safer approach.

I love both Josh Jacobs and Austin Ekeler in this one, and I feel fine using either of them in the captain spot. Jacobs has been this teams offense for the past 2 months really averaging almost 21 opportunities per game in that stretch. This leads to him having some extremely consistent production. Tack on the fact that the Chargers D has really struggled against the run well that makes Jacobs much more appealing to me. I see him getting to around 15 DK points and at his price point that is enough for me.

Austin Ekeler has really been as consistent as they come, and although this slate most likely comes down to how much one of his backups end up doing Ekeler is still the top DFS play on this slate. In week 4 against the Raiders he had 32 DK points.

Last week Ekeler only played in 58% of the RB snaps giving 38% to Justin Jackson who has looked good. Scoring 9.1, 35.2, and 10.9 DK points over the past 3 games. This could very well be a game that he gets another 8DK + night. He is a great lineup filler tonight.

Jared Cook is priced somewhat cheap on this slate as well with Parham Jr OUT it should mean that Cook gets a bump in snaps. Last week with Cook out with COVID we saw Stephen Anderson get 78% of the snaps. This leads me to believe that this will be what Cook gets. If he does this is a great price point for him. Both Guyton and Palmer have been getting a lot of snaps lately as well and both I see as lineup fillers.

There really has not been a cheaper more consistent fantasy producer than Hunter Renfrow, and with him getting more and more snaps lately he has continued that trend. The only worry with him as a play, and the reason I do not see him as a lock is that Waller will be back tonight getting some of those shorter routes as well. Renfrow is still a good play at his price point.

Zay Jones is the last of the Raiders players that I want. What is crazy is that over the last 4 weeks he has 34 targets, and has scored over 10 DK points in 3 straight games. Once again Waller being back might eat into this but if he doesn't this is a great price point.
